Surveillance released of Miami Beach shooting

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) -- Surveillance video was released of the shooting that occurred on South Beach, on Super Bowl night.
Twenty-seven-year-old Floyd Wells could be seen on surveillance video Sunday night firing a shot near Tantra Restaurant, located on Pennsylvania Avenue and Espanola Way. Family members said he is the gunman seen on surveillance removing his hoody and cap.
According to family members, Wells had his chain ripped and robbed from off his neck, and that's when he pulled his gun on his attacker, across the street from Deco Sandwiches shop.
Miami Beach Police said 23-year veteran Louis King caught up with Wells on Pennsylvania Avenue and Espanola Way when he fired. "Pulled up on us in like a pickup truck and just jumped out and before he got all the way out of the car, he just opened the door and fired like three shots. Exactly three shots and shot my people in the arm and the shoulder," said Wells' cousin.
Police have not revealed what lead King to fire. "Because it's part of the Internal Affairs and being reviewed by the state attorney's office, we can't release much more," said Miami Beach Police Detective Juan Sanchez.
Wells' family members who were with him the night of the shooting said there was no need for police to fire. "He didn't do anything. He was screaming and calling the police out here, someone robbed him," said his cousin. "He has never been in trouble in his life. Never had a felony in his life. He doesn't even have a parking ticket," said his cousin.
Police have not released any surveillance video taken outside of the club. Wells remains in the hospital in stable condition.
Charges are still pending.
